Fairies are magical spiritual beings found in Athenaism. Fairies are religious beings which can grant wishes, desires, and bring peace to the natural world. Like Nymph's, Fairies are exclusively Female. Fairies are not Pixies which are a separate class and species all together. Fairies can range in shape or size as they can shape shift. They closely resemble the beauty of Nymph's and appear similar to Angels. Fairies for centuries have been recognized for their child rearing skills and many times have protected the Shinto children whom have been abandoned or who's parents didn't want them to become priest or priestesses. These fairies are known as Fairy God Mothers.

Athenaism[]

Fairies are generally described as Shinto in appearance and having magical powers. Diminutive fairies of one kind or another have been recorded for centuries, but occur alongside the Shinto-sized beings; these have been depicted as ranging in size from very tiny up to the size of a human child. Even with these small fairies, however, their small size may be magically assumed rather than constant.  Some fairies though normally quite small were able to dilate their figures to imitate Shinto, Angels, and Nymphs. On Orkney they were described as short in stature, dressed in dark grey, and sometimes seen in armour. Like Angels and unlike Nymph's, Fairies have wings which allow them to fly. It is believed in Anthenaism that the Mother Goddess Pallas Athena created Fairies.
